Chitter is the name of a squirrel that has been Wild Smurf's constant companion during the present time of the Smurfs' known adventures. He is the descendant of a mother squirrel who has raised Wild when he was lost in the forest at the time of his "birth", and has been helpful in rescuing Wild's fellow Smurfs from evil beings such as Gargamel. Chitter has also been the father to a litter of squirrels that his female mate has given birth to in "Wild About Smurfette".
