Character Name: Miner |
Miner is one of the main characters of the Smurfs cartoon show, who has appeared on the show from the early seasons up until around Season 8. He is a spelunker who's usually found working in the mines extracting useful metals. He speaks in a Irish accent and is easily identified by a candle that he wears on the top of his Smurf hat.
In one of the stories of Vic George's EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf series, Miner joins with Sweepy, Tapper, and Barber as a member of the Barber Smurf Quartet, practicing for the Smurfstock Festival. He also along with Handy accidentally brought out of a buried cave a casket that contained the undead Smurf vampire known as Vladimir Smurfula.
His character was voiced by Alan Young.
