Smurfette is one of the main characters of the Smurfs cartoon show, who has appeared on the show throughout its entire run. She was the only female Smurf that appeared on the show until Season 5, when she was joined by a young female Smurfling named Sassette, and then later in Season 8 she was joined by an elderly female Smurf named Nanny. She was created by Gargamel to be a weapon to destroy the Smurfs through their hearts, but Papa Smurf saw her desire to become a real Smurf and had used his magic to accomplish this task. Her role in the village tends to be that of a nurturer, tending to flowers that grow in her garden as well as to Baby Smurf and the Smurflings. She is considered the love interest of all the adult Smurfs -- including Papa Smurf in "Romeo And Smurfette" -- but since she loves them all equally, she could never decide who among them she would want to marry.

Her character was voiced by Lucille Bliss in the cartoon show, and will be voiced by Katy Perry in the upcoming The Smurfs movie.
