- This episode is an obvious parody of the 1984 Ghostbusters movie, with Brainy and Clumsy armed with ghost-capturing devices similar to those used by the main characters in the movie, though in rather primitive form. It also uses a variant of Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters" theme song in chase scenes. However, near the end of the episode, Brainy and Clumsy refer to themselves as "autosmurfers", possibly to avoid any copyright infringement with the movie.
