Vanity is one of the main characters of the Smurfs cartoon show, who has appeared on the show throughout its entire run. He is usually obsessed with his own personal beauty, and is usually seen carrying around a mirror admiring himself constantly in it. He is easily identified by a flower on the right side of his hat. Vanity has an identical clone of himself (unofficially referred to as Hundredth) who made his first and presumably only appearance in "The Hundredth Smurf". He came about when Vanity was polishing a new mirror in the forest when it started raining with thunder and lightning. Then lightning struck the mirror while Vanity was holding it, and it caused a reflection of himself to emerge from the mirror, which originally did everything that was the opposite of what Vanity did (at least as far as being a mirror duplicate of Vanity) and even spoke sentences in reverse. Eventually the clone became frustrated at being unwanted by his "brother" and returned to the mirror, hoping to reenter it when lightning struck it again, this time changing him into a complete twin of Vanity with no mirror-reversed actions or speech.

His character (and Hundredth's) was voiced by Alan Oppenheimer.
