Wild Smurf (or just Wild) is a Smurf character who appears in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf fanfiction story "Smurfed Behind: The Departure". Though much of his backstory is yet unrevealed, it is assumed that it shares some similarity to his cartoon show universe counterpart's inasmuch as he was raised outside the village by a family of squirrels and was eventually discovered by the Smurfs during his early adult years. Unlike the Wild of the cartoon show, however, this version was enabled to speak in plain Smurf language through the help of Empath, though whether he kept his animal mannerisms is yet unknown at this point. Smurfette was one of the Smurfs who befriended Wild and eventually struck a relationship with him, which makes her current relationship with Empath rather tenuous as far as its direction.

In one timeline that Traveler investigated through Empath, he saw a version of Empath who was born without a yellow star mark and without his mental powers who ended up growing up in the forest apart from his fellow Smurfs as Wild Smurf. Unlike the Wild Smurf Empath had met in his own timeline, this Wild Smurf still retained the ability to speak in only squirrel chatter and his animal mannerisms.
